4A Region 7 recap September 17, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Mountain View, who took down 80th ranked Mountain View, 47-24.
Jackson Dunford and Trayce Esteban provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Skyline. The connection was good for 74 yards, the longest such play in 4A Region 7 this season.
Orem's dynamic duo of Tucker Camp and Nolan Gray proved to be unstoppable against Murray, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Camp threw for 246 yards and 4 touchdowns and Gray had 171 yards receiving. Parker Overly helped Orem's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 38 yards.
The Tigers' dynamic duo of Camp and Gray proved tough for the Spartans to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Ben Seagle was the best running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 134 yards as Olympus beat Murray. Coleman Meier also contributed to the rushing game with 99 yards on the ground.
Gray was the best receiver in the league this week as Tyler Anderson's team topped Mike Richmond's team.
He was 11-18 with 2 interceptions.
Camp put up the best numbers in passing as the Tigers defeated the Spartans.
Dunford provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Timpanogos bested the Eagles. He completed 22 passes for 327 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 57 yards. Dunford's key target this week was Esteban, who caught 7 passes for 139 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Dunford of the Timberwolves is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,055. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Gray. The Orem star has 26 catches for 406 yards.
The Titans are currently in first, while Corner Canyon is in sixth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Olympus takes on the Chargers. Aaron Whitehead's team has allowed 53 points this season, while Corner Canyon has given up 87. The Titans allowed 7 points last week as they topped Taylorsville.
Olympus extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 7 this week by beating the Warriors, 34-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Titans.
