Center Place and the Patriots are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The pair will face off at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Center Place focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought match, but Center Place had to settle for a 42-39 defeat against the Patriots. Center Place has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Center Place got a solid performance out of Rylie Kroesen, who scored 17 points along with two steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Caylyn Schrunk, who scored two points along with 14 rebounds.
Center Place's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Clinton Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Monday's contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Center Place have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Clinton Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 45.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Center Place couldn't quite finish off the Patriots in their previous matchup on Tuesday and fell 42-39. Can Center Place avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
