Basketball Recap: Make It Nine in a Row for Eminence

Eminence had won eight straight games and Khloee Kirk did her part to make it nine on Saturday. The Eminence Eels put the hurt on the Dugger Union Bulldogs with a sharp 63-42 victory thanks in part to Kirk, who posted 30 points. Her evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Saucerman, who earned 16 points. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last nine games she's played.

Dugger Union lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sage Stahl, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Smith, who put up 13 points and four steals.

Eminence has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Dugger Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eminence will welcome Central Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eminence is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season. As for Dugger Union, they will look to defend their home court on January 4, 2025 against Washington Catholic at 6:00 p.m.
