The Chalker Wildcats will face off against the Badger Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Badger will be up against a hot Chalker squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went the Wildcats' way against Leetonia on Thursday as they made off with a 17-1 win.
Tatum Hudak and Riley Ashcraft were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Hudak struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Ashcraft pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hudak has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. At the plate, Hudak went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI, while Ashcraft got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Abby Grimm was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Cook, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Chalker always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .743. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Badger got the win against Open Door Christian on Wednesday by a conclusive 13-1.
The team relied heavily on Riley Thomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Piper Dailey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Chalker's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Badger, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chalker hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. However, it's not like Badger struggles in that department as they've averaged .366. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chalker got the 'W' in their previous matchup last Wednesday against Badger by a conclusive 15-2 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
