Basketball Recap: Ysleta Sets Scoring Season-High Against El Paso

Ysleta scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 67-60 to the El Paso Tigers. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Ysleta still got an impressive performance from Martin Soria, who went 7-for-12 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Soria continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Guzman, who posted eight points and 13 boards.

Ysleta has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for El Paso, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Ysleta will head out to challenge Tornillo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Paso, they will be playing at home against Mountain View at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
