Last Friday, Tempe Prep sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 victory over the Dust Devils.
Meanwhile, St. Augustine Catholic earned a 40-31 victory over the Titans on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Augustine Catholic.
St. Augustine Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carolina Georgelous, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Georgelous scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lourdes Gamez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Tempe Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season. As for St. Augustine Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
Tempe Prep suffered a grim 46-23 defeat to the Wolves in their previous matchup back in January. Can Tempe Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
