The biggest upset of the week belonged to South, who took down 581st ranked Centennial, 8-6.
The Spartans scaled the state rankings by moving to 670 from 780 this week, the biggest jump in Pioneer. South climbed the ranks as a result of beating the Apaches 8-6.
El Segundo's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lars Nootbaar threw for 253 and 2 touchdowns and Nick Karsseboom had 117 yards receiving. On the ground Dathan Baliey contributed 23 yards. Jamie Stewart helped El Segundo's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 56 yards.
Baliey was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 23 yards as the Eagles defeated Torrance.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, El Segundo's Nootbaar and Stewart have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Nootbaar has thrown for 1,365 yards this season, while Stewart has 34 catches for 713 yards. Chris Hyduke's team's Brandon Chavez leads the league in rushing yards with 336.
An important game coming up in Pioneer this week will be when North takes on Steve Shevlin's team. The Saxons are in first place, while the Eagles are in third place.
The Spartans made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,550 from 11,066. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 8-6 victory over Centennial last week.
