The Houlka Wildcats's four-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against Vardaman by a score of 65-52. That's another feather in the cap for Houlka, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Houlka to victory, but perhaps none more so than Neal Moore, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Moore scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Kilpatrick, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Houlka's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11. As for Vardaman, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Houlka will be playing in front of their home fans against West Lowndes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Vardaman, they will head out on the road to face off against Okolona at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Okolona knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Vardaman likes a good challenge.
