Memorial has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Sapulpa Chieftains at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Chieftains are ranked 23rd).
Last Friday, Memorial came up short against the Buffaloes and fell 59-50.
Meanwhile, Sapulpa put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Coweta with a sharp 58-35 win. Winning may never get old, but Sapulpa sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Sapulpa had a senior duo take command as Tyla Heard scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists and Taylor Bilby scored 17 points. Heard is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Riki Mcquarters, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Memorial has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Sapulpa, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Memorial came up short against the Chieftains in their previous matchup back in January, falling 51-40. Will Memorial have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
