Despite the loss, Peoria Heights still got an impressive performance from Nyaja Russell, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Russell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Janessa Marie wallace was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Havana pushed their record up to 14-8 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Peoria Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Havana will take on Central/Southeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central/Southeastern is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. Peoria Heights will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Astoria/VIT at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Astoria/VIT is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
