A Season-Best  Effort from  Christian Richey Leads Hillcrest over Tuscaloosa County
 Hillcrest was led to victory by  Christian Richey, who turned in his biggest game of the season  on Friday. Richey rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and a touchdown. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (106.1). The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  rushing yards.
 Hillcrest now  has a winning record of 4-3. They and Thompson are set to duel  on Friday.

Anquon Fegans Dazzles in Thompson Win
 Winning always takes teamwork, but  on Friday  Anquon Fegans stepped things up a notch to give Thompson the 'W'. Nobody could stop  Fegans as he forced a fumble and made six total tackles.
 Hewitt-Trussville had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw  Fegans it was a similar story. When  Fegans last faced the Huskies  back in November of 2023, he forced a fumble, made seven total tackles,  and defended two passes in addition to snagging   an  interception.

Big Game from Kimbrough As Hillcrest Won 42-21
 Another Hillcrest player making an appearance on this list is  Bryson Kimbrough. He threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown.
 For the year,  Kimbrough  has thrown 6 touchdowns while averaging 138.7 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season,  he was only averaging 25.71  passing yards per game.

Charlie Taaffe Delivers Electric  Performance Vs Prattville
 Winning always takes teamwork, but  on Friday  Charlie Taaffe stepped things up a notch to give Vestavia Hills the 'W'. Nobody could stop  Taaffe as he threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns on perfect 11-for-11 passing, and also rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown.
 For the season,  Taaffe  has thrown 4 touchdowns while averaging 135.2 passing yards per game.

Denarrius Crawford Turns in Season-Best  Effort
 Sadly,  Denarrius Crawford posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Hewitt-Trussville over Thompson on Friday. Crawford picked up  a  sack, forced a fumble,  and made 13 total tackles.
 Hewitt-Trussville's loss  ended  a  seven-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 5-2. Crawford and Hewitt-Trussville will challenge Prattville at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
