The Northwest Jaguars will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Northwest had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Springbrook by a score of 38-28 on Tuesday. The victory was just what Northwest needed coming off of a 58-27 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Seneca Valley stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Northwood, posting a 84-27 victory at home. Seneca Valley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Seneca Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brielle Watson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Watson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Addison, who scored 14 points along with five assists and two steals.
Northwest's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9. As for Seneca Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Northwest was taken down by the Screamin' Eagles 77-14 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Addison, who scored 20 points along with seven steals and six assists.
