The Troy Trojans were the 51-40 winner over the Jefferson County North Chargers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Troy fell 60-47 to Jefferson County North on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Troy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Jefferson County North is ranked 96th).
Defeat or not, Troy got some senior leadership from Christian Etherton who scored 21 points along with six steals and Seth Judd who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Judd also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gannon Bowe, who scored five points along with four steals.
Troy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Jefferson County North, they now have a winning record of 1-0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Troy will be home for the holidays to greet Blue Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Jefferson County North won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oskaloosa at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Oskaloosa will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
