Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last game, Ganado made sure to put some points up on the board against Flatonia on Friday. The Indians simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 46-0. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Kenedy better keep an eye on Logan Bures. He was instrumental in Ganado's win, rushing for 214 yards and three scores on only 15 carries. Bures' longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another passer making a difference was Landyn Arriaga, who threw for 199 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 88.2% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ganado was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 323 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 153 rushing yards in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Kenedy fell to 4-1. As for Ganado, their record now sits at an identical 4-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Kenedy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 256.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ganado struggles in that department as they've been averaging 247.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Kenedy was taken down by Ganado 35-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bures, who rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.
