Basketball Game Preview: Scott Eagles vs. Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts

The Scott Eagles will take on the Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Scott is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Scott came up short against Pendleton County and fell 61-53. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Scott's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Aaron Hampton, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points and eight rebounds, and Jordan Clemons, who posted 11 points and five steals. Hampton has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaymon Coleman, who put up nine points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lloyd Memorial). They took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging an 85-35 win over Villa Madonna. Given the Juggernauts' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Vikings are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lloyd Memorial's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Scott, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
