The Mauldin Mavericks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 68-54 fall against T.L. Hanna. While losing is never fun, Mauldin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while T.L. Hanna is ranked eighth).
Several Mavericks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braden Hershberger, who scored 15 points. The game was Hershberger's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Alverez Smith was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Mauldin has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for T.L. Hanna, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing J.L. Mann the next time they take the court. T.L. Hanna will head out to face J.L. Mann at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Mauldin will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
