Bell has gone 9-1 against Bronson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Bell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Bell took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Chiefland.
Alaina Thomas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Bell let Dacy Graham and Maddie Smith run wild. Graham went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Smith scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Alexsandra Faught, who scored a run and stole a base.
Meanwhile, while Bronson put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Dixie County. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Bears. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.
Julianne Lampton was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lampton was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI.
In other batting news, Jordyn Paige was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Tegan Barber was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Bronson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Bell pushed their record up to 7-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Bronson, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Bell couldn't quite get it done against Bronson in their previous meeting back in February as they fell 6-2. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
