Basketball Game Preview: Eustis Panthers vs. Seminole Seminoles

The Eustis Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Seminole Seminoles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eustis will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Leesburg, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Eustis escaped with a win on Friday against Leesburg by the margin of a single free throw, 41-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eustis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cornelius Hines, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Hines has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Lomar Sparrow, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Seminole came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They snuck past the Trojan Tigers with a 78-73 win.

Seminole has also been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Eustis, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

Eustis didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Seminole in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 70-64 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eustis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
