The Grand Oaks Grizzlies will face off against the Benjamin Davis Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Grand Oaks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday.
In what's become a running theme this season, Grand Oaks gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They blew past Cleveland 71-36 at home. Given Grand Oaks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Cleveland is ranked 1421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bree Riley was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That makes it 26 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Grand Oaks' points. Another player making a difference was Avery Campbell, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Davis fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Spring on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Lions 45-39.
Grand Oaks' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-14. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Benjamin Davis, their loss dropped their record down to 22-11.
