Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They enjoyed a cozy 86-69 victory over the Centennial Eagles on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Cobras sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Joseph Gayle was his usual excellent self, going 14 for 18 on his way to 32 points and six rebounds. Christopher Maxon was another key player, almost dropping a triple-double on 12 points, ten boards, and nine assists.

Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Centennial still got an impressive performance from Jeremy Felix, who went 15 of 19 en route to 39 points. The match was Felix's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Felix Buroz, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points and three steals.

Central is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Centennial, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 14-7.

Central and Centennial should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Central will square off against Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 232 places (53 vs. 285). Central will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Meanwhile, Centennial (ranked 66th) will meet Port St. Lucie (ranked 422nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.9 points per game this season.
