The Manchester Valley Mavericks proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 21) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Century out 48-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Manchester Valley.
Manchester Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was William Cuneo out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cuneo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Luddy, who scored 18 points.
Manchester Valley's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7. As for Century, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.
Manchester Valley will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. As for Century, they will head out on the road to challenge the Owls at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
