Levelland has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Estacado Matadors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, Levelland blew past the Mustangs, posting a 52-17 victory at home. Given Levelland's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Mustangs are ranked 748th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Estacado had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They breezed by Lake View on the road to the tune of 65-8.
Levelland's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 30-2. As for Estacado, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 19-11 record this season.
Levelland beat the Matadors 49-39 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Levelland since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
