Softball Recap: River Valley Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but River Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 victory over the Granville Blue Aces. The Vikings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

River Valley got a big performance out of Harper Rogers, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That hit was Rogers' first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Fowler, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Rogers wasn't the only one making solid contact: River Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

River Valley's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Granville, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

River Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-6 victory against Ontario on the 1st. Granville has also already played their next contest (against Olentangy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
