Connelly School of the Holy Child was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to St. Andrew's Episcopal. Connelly School of the Holy Child was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Andrew's Episcopal apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
St. Andrew's Episcopal got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna beth Tsai-turton out in front who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Tsai-turton pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaylah Thompson, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Connelly School of the Holy Child's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Connelly School of the Holy Child will take on Potomac School at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Potomac School is ranked 11th in Virginia, while Connelly School of the Holy Child is ranked 15th in Maryland). As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sidwell Friends at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
