After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Amory, the Ripley Tigers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They put the hurt on Falkner with a sharp 63-43 victory. That looming 63-43 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Ripley yet this season.
Despite the loss, Falkner had strong showings from Elijah Mauney, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds, and Chris Nunley, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Nunley scored a full 41.9% of Falkner's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Gavin Wooley was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds.
Ripley's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Falkner, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ripley will take on Itawamba Agricultural at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Falkner, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ashland at 7:30 p.m.
