Wingfield is on a three-game streak of home losses, Murrah a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Wingfield Falcons will take on the Murrah Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Wingfield had to suffer through a rough 59-14 loss at the hands of Oak Grove. Wingfield was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-5.
Despite the loss, Wingfield got a solid performance out of Ni' Juenna Lacy, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds. Lacy scored a full 78.6% of Wingfield's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Murrah was beaten by Callaway 60-25 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Murrah can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Callaway is ranked 28th).
Wingfield's win lifted them to 1-6 while Oak Grove's loss dropped them down to 4-4.
Wingfield was dealt a bruising 71-8 defeat at the hands of Murrah in their previous matchup back in November of 2019. Will Wingfield have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
