The Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 80-36 loss at the hands of Calhoun County. Ridge Spring-Monetta has not had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Ridge Spring-Monetta saw an underclassman step up: Akiem Mills dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Mills hasn't dropped below 11 rebounds for five straight games.
Calhoun County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kerron Scott, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Wallace, who scored 16 points.
Ridge Spring-Monetta dropped their record down to 5-12 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Calhoun County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Ridge Spring-Monetta will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Vikings at 8:00 p.m. Averaging 65.85 points so far this season, Denmark-Olar's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Trojans better be ready for a challenge. As for Calhoun County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
