The Platt Panthers entered their tilt with the South Windsor Bobcats with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Platt skirted past South Windsor 21-19. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Platt also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2016.
Joel Rey had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Rey is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
South Windsor's lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mitch Chaves, who rushed for 15 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 228 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Joey Bemis, who picked up 143 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Platt's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.5 points per game. As for South Windsor, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Platt will challenge Farmington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Windsor, they will head out on the road to face off against Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
