If Bessemer City wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cherryville, they should've done a better job of containing Camryn Shirley. The Ironmen put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday for which the team can thank Shirley, who had six aces and four digs. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more aces the last three times she's played.

Cherryville's got stronger as the match went on, holding Bessemer City to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-16, 25-9.

Cherryville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Bessemer City, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15.
