After three lead changes,
Arroyo Grande (Calif.) took the lead for good when with 10:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
Atascadero (Calif.) 41-27 on Saturday.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at seven.
The Eagles' standout player in the win was
Michael Jordano. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
Jonathan Torres made a difference for the Greyhounds. The senior ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
Arroyo Grande also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 35-19.
The loss comes after Atascadero defeated Pioneer Valley 22-16 last week. With the win AG extended its winning streak to four games.
In a Pac-7 game next week Arroyo Grande (4-1) takes on St. Joseph, and Atascadero (3-3) will go up against Righetti also in a Pac-7 game.
