Curtis Baptist is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Jefferson Davis Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Curtis Baptist blew Jefferson Davis Academy out of the water with a 58-24 final score. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.

Curtis Baptist relied on the efforts of Jaliyah Terry, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards, and Maci Butler, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Butler has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Amelia Kilroy was another key player, putting up two points and seven boards.
Curtis Baptist was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holly Hill Academy). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-21 victory over Mead Hall Episcopal School. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Holly Hill Academy's win came from a few key players Curtis Baptist will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kaley Bell, who went 8 of 17 en route to 20 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Milly Kate Prescott, who posted 16 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards.
Holly Hill Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Curtis Baptist, they are also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Curtis Baptist has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Holly Hill Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
