The May River Sharks suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 66-25 loss at the hands of Bluffton. May River has struggled against Bluffton recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bluffton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tacoya Heyward, who scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Heyward is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ja'laina Mosley, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
May River's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for Bluffton, their win was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. May River will take on Lucy Beckham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lucy Beckham is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Bluffton, they will head out on the road to challenge Hilton Head Island at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hilton Head Island will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Bluffton is ranked 18th).
