Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lakes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ehmarii McChristian, who shot 44% from the field to rack up 16 points and four steals. McChristian's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Juliana Gocha, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 12 points and eight rebounds.
Lakes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 25 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Enumclaw had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.7 points) and they went ahead and made it eight last Thursday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 56-52 W against White River.
Enumclaw's win came from a few key players that Lakes will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Logan Girias, who shot 50% from the field en route to 17 points and five boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaidyn Johnson, who posted seven points and ten rebounds.
Lakes' record now sits at 15-6. As for Enumclaw, their record is now 16-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lakes has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 38.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Enumclaw struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Lakes came up short against Enumclaw when the teams last played back in January of 2016, falling 54-42. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
