Baseball Recap: Oswego East Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oswego East). They put the hurt on the Plainfield South Cougars with a sharp 15-2 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won five contests in a row.

Jacsen Tucker was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mason Palermo, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Oswego East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Oswego East's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Plainfield South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oswego East will welcome Joliet Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Plainfield South, they will take on Schaumburg at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
