After losing to the Denison Yellow Jackets the last time they met, the Turner Lions decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Turner walked away with a 58-51 win over Denison on Friday.
Leading Turner to victory were Rodney Gray and Tyrell Jefferson. Gray scored 16 points along with 7 steals and 6 assists, while Jefferson scored 21 points along with 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Gray has scored at least 25% of Turner's points. Connor Duncan was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Turner's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Denison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.
Turner will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Sam Rayburn at 9:30 a.m. on December 2nd. As for Denison, they will be playing at home against Sherman at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Sherman is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
