The Wichita County Indians took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They took down Elkhart 64-47. That's another feather in the cap for Wichita County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Wichita County can attribute much of their success to Christopher Michel, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Leonardo Alvarado, who scored 5 points along with 8 rebounds.
Wichita County's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Elkhart, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Wichita County will head out on the road to face off against Meade at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elkhart, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greeley County at 5:59 p.m. on Saturday.
