After flying high against the Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs on Friday, the Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Ospreys came back down to earth. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy fell 72-61 to East Ridge on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Isiah Keep scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. Keep scored a full 26.2% of Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Vandelinde, who scored 10 points.
Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for East Ridge, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy will take on Bland County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richlands at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
