Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Chandler Prep

Chandler Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the San Carlos Braves. Considering the Titans have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Giada Lowman and Kyra Tucker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Lowman pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Tucker struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Lowman went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Tucker got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Chandler Prep got a massive performance out of Mikayla Brackman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave Brackman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Ferruzzi, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Chandler Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .656 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Chandler Prep's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for San Carlos, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

Looking ahead, Chandler Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Benjamin Franklin at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for San Carlos, they will take on Miami at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vandals will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Braves surely won't give up without a fight.
