If Petal was riding high fresh off their 16-4 takedown of St. Stanislaus last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Petal came up short against the Brandon Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 10-1. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

John Lindsey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Petal's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-5. As for Brandon, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-8.

While Petal had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
