Softball Recap: Southlake Carroll Wins Going Away Against Bell

Southlake Carroll made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bell, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Dragons put the hurt on the Blue Raiders with a sharp 14-3 victory on Friday. Considering the Dragons have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Olivia Wiske looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Scarlett Kuhn was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Mccarrick, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Southlake Carroll and bumps their season record up to 17-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Bell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Southlake Carroll will challenge rival Keller Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bell is set to square off against their familiar foe Byron Nelson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
