Scurry-Rosser is 2-8 against Malakoff since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Scurry-Rosser will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 738th, while Malakoff is ranked 82nd).
Scurry-Rosser suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Rice on the road and fell 55-25. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, Scurry-Rosser couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, Malakoff entered their tilt with Kemp with 17 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 18. Malakoff blew past Kemp 61-13 at home. Malakoff has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.
Scurry-Rosser's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Malakoff, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-2.
Scurry-Rosser came up short against Malakoff when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 37-25. Can Scurry-Rosser avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
