The Navarre Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Niceville Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Navarre sitting on six straight victories and Niceville on five.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Navarre and West Florida, and Navarre kept the tradition alive. The Raiders came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 6-2 on Friday.
Kayden Riddle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Renee Hester, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Karsyn Riddle was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Niceville gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Choctawhatchee as they made off with an 11-1 win.
Brenna Cooke was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Molly Mayfield, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
Niceville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Niceville's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Navarre, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Niceville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Navarre hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. It's a different story for Niceville, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Navarre's hitters?
Navarre couldn't quite get it done against Niceville in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 5-0. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
