There's no place like home for the Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 victory over Faith Christian Academy on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given Maranatha Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 297th in Kansas, while Faith Christian Academy is ranked 88th in Missouri).
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was John Schleeter, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Dull, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Maranatha Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Faith Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4.
Maranatha Christian Academy will be playing at home against Heritage Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Faith Christian Academy, they will face off against St. Francis Christian at 4:40 p.m. on Thursday.
