Basketball Recap: Ocean View Sets Scoring Season-High Against Westminster

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ocean View). They took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging an 88-52 win over the Westminster Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Seahawks have posted since December 22, 2023.

Leading Ocean View to victory were Cavin Flanagan and Zeke Case. Flanagan went 11 of 21 en route to 36 points, while Case went 10 for 15 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Those 36 points gave Flanagan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Covarrubias, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds.

Ocean View was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Ocean View's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9. As for Westminster, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Ocean View and California will compete for holiday cheer at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in California's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matchups. As for Westminster, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Westminster Lions challenge the Orange Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
