The Ridgeview Wolf Pack will be taking part in a tournament against the Chavez Titans at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ridgeview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.
Ridgeview lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Rosamond, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Wolf Pack put the hurt on the Roadrunners with a sharp 17-10 victory on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wolf Pack needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Kylie Navarrete was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Navarrete was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Valeria Perez was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Jessica Lopez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Ridgeview hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Chavez might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 9-5 to Eastside, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Zoe Chavez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
Ridgeview is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Chavez, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
Ridgeview couldn't quite get it done against Chavez in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Wolf Pack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
