Fairfield is a perfect 10-0 against Westview since October of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Falcons will face off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Fairfield turned things around against Central Noble on Thursday. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 3-1.
The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-28, 25-13, 25-12.
Meanwhile, Westview earned a 3-1 victory over Fremont on Thursday.
Westview got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-30, 25-14, 25-21, 25-23.
Westview's win came from a few key players Fairfield will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alayah Hostetler, who had 17 assists and 14 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Graci Engle, who had 15 digs and one assist.
Westview was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. They are a perfect 7-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Westview now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Fairfield, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.
Fairfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Westview when the teams last played back in September, winning 2-0. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
