Greenwood Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Indianapolis Lutheran recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Cougars will face off against the Saints at 5:30 p.m. Greenwood Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
Greenwood Christian Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 24-4 margin over Providence Cristo Rey. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Alexus Kieninger made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Kieninger was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Elle Schnake was a standout: she went a perfect 6-for-6 with five runs and three RBI. Those six hits gave her a new career-high. Sarai Gabrielle Robertson was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Greenwood Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .541. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Indianapolis Lutheran came tearing into Thursday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Warriors.
Like Greenwood Christian Academy, Indianapolis Lutheran also got a great game from a two-way player: Gracie Boggs. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Boggs has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
Boggs wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Leyla Miller, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Indianapolis Lutheran pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, their record is now 7-13.
Greenwood Christian Academy suffered a grim 17-2 defeat to Indianapolis Lutheran when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
