Even though The Grand Saline Indians scored an imposing 35 points on Friday, the Troup Tigers still came out on top. Troup sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-35 win over Grand Saline. The win made it back-to-back wins for Troup.
Troup's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trae Davis, who picked up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Brett Wells, who gained 96 total yards and a touchdown.
Troup's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Grand Saline, their loss was their third straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 4-6.
Troup will be playing in front of their home fans against New Boston at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Saline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
