Basketball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings, falling 83-42. The Rangers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-21.

When it comes to explaining why North lost, don't look at Nate Tadiello. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Tadiello has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last seven times he's played.

Even though they lost, North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Villa Angela-St. Joseph got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Antonio Brown out in front who went 7 of 10 on his way to 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaevon Hairston, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points and six assists.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-49 win against Chardon on the 14th. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 73-37 victory against Shaw on the 11th.
