Castle View is 1-9 against Chaparral since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Castle View Sabercats will welcome the Chaparral Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Castle View took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 61-54 win over Ponderosa.

Castle View found their leader in sophomore Bubba Wyatt, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Wyatt a new career-high in steals (two). Another player making a difference was Evan Mckean, who posted 11 points and six steals.
Meanwhile, Chaparral had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 67-61 W against the Eagles. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Eagles are ranked 64th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chaparral's win came from a few key players Castle View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Christian Williams, who put up 14 points in addition to five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Williams, who went 5 for 6 to rack up 13 points along with six boards and four blocks.
Chaparral pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.2 points over those games. As for Castle View, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Castle View has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Chaparral struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Castle View came up short against Chaparral in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 68-62. Will Castle View have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
